The 2016 Mercury Optimax 175 ProXS is a high-performance 175HP direct fuel injection (DFI) 2-stroke outboard motor engineered for bass boats, tournament fishing boats, bay boats, and performance-oriented fishing applications. It belongs to Mercury’s famous ProXS lineup, which was designed to deliver fast acceleration, lightweight construction, aggressive throttle response, and strong top-end speed while maintaining better fuel economy than traditional carbureted 2-stroke engines.
The ProXS series became extremely popular among tournament anglers because of its excellent power-to-weight ratio, rapid hole-shot performance, and dependable Mercury SmartCraft electronics.
