Mercury 200HP Optimax (20” Shaft) is a high-performance V6 2-stroke direct injection (DFI) outboard engine designed for offshore fishing boats, bass boats, bay boats, and medium-to-large recreational vessels. It is part of Mercury’s famous OptiMax series, known for combining strong acceleration, lightweight design, and better fuel efficiency compared to traditional carbureted 2-strokes.
This engine uses Mercury’s 3.0L V6 platform and SmartCraft digital engine management, delivering fast hole-shot acceleration, strong mid-range torque, and high top-end speed. The 20-inch shaft (L/20”) version is one of the most common configurations for center consoles and fishing boats.
